  • 'NiGHTS: Journey Of Dreams' Announced For Wii

It had to happen somewhen. There could have been some kind of war if SEGA didn't do something eventually.

So, yes, NiGHTS 2 comes exclusively to Wii in "Fall 2007" and players will be able to glide, spiral and loop "through seven mystical dream worlds packed with high-flying adventure". The team behind the game promise they'll make full use of the Wii remote's capabilities, but frankly, I'm sure the fans who have been waiting for this for so long couldn't care if they had to control it with their feet.

    It's NiGHTS ferchrissake.

  • March 2007 In Review

Start as you mean to go on I suppose. Here's the best from the month before Another Gaming Blog came to be.

PS3 Goes On Sale - Stays On Sale.

There was no sell out for the launch of the PS3 on 23 March. There were no massive midnight queues with quarreling gentlemen like you found at the Japanese launch. And yet, it was still a highly successful launch as Sony managed to shift 165,000 units out of the 220,000 available. That's £70,125,000 straight into their back pockets.

As well as earning Sony an obscene amount of money, the PS3 became the second fastest selling console ever over a launch weekend. The 165,000 sold easily matched up to the Wii's 105,000, and hands down beat the Xbox 360's 70,000. It couldn't quite beat its hometown rival though, falling 20,000 short of the PSP's 185,000. For a complete comparison, the DS managed 87,000 when it first saw European light.

No matter how you feel about the PS3, it's undeniable that the console is off to a fantastic start.

Microsoft: Look, We've Got Another 360!

To follow up the PS3's launch into all the territories, Microsoft ended months of rumour by finally revealing the Xbox 360 Elite. Boasting a 120GB hard-drive, the Elite also includes the oft-requested HDMI port and the never-requested black coat of paint. All this will set you back $479.99, compared to the Premium's $399.99 and the Core's $299.99.

The package hasn't been confirmed for UK release yet, but it would be an unusual move not to see it appear on any European shores.

A new, 512MB Memory Unit was also announced separately from the Elite package, as well as multiple black-coloured peripherals that will put a stop to any 360 fashion disasters.
