Well look at that. Rockstar have gone and announced a special edition version for both platform releases of GTA IV. And it will have “special packaging”. Oh. Em. Gee.

Cracking open that special packaging will net you an art book (“featuring never-before-seen production artwork”), a selected soundtrack CD (“featuring new material from top artists, only available on this release”), a Rockstar keychain, and a Rockstar duffel bag.

The special edition is confirmed for release in both US (on 16 October) and European (on 19 October) territories – the former will get it for $80, but the European tag is currently pure speculation. Although, GAME are offering the 360 version for £50, which isn’t bad considering it’s just an extra ten smackers from the normal version.

I’ll be getting it just for the soundtrack CD really. You can always count on GTA for a cracking tune or two.
